Custom Dry Kilns & Sawmill of Oregon Inc. (CDKS) was established in 2004 in Sheridan, Oregon. CDKS is “Your One Stop Shop”. In addition to the kilns, CDKS runs a small sawmill and re-manufacturing plant. Services offered are lumber drying, heat-treating, moulding, sanding, planning and many other services. Custom work is
our specialty – No job is too small.
Custom Dry Kilns & Sawmill operates 4 kilns with a capacity of 40,000 BF each for “custom” drying and heat-treating. They can accommodate up to 28 feet in length. The kiln’s short length as well as the low-pressure steam system allows for a maximum drying efficiency. CDKS follows the USDA kiln drying schedules.
CDKS has experience in drying softwoods and hardwoods such as Cedar, Douglas Fir, Hemlock, Alder, Black Walnut, Mrytle and Redwood. Exotic species that have been dried are Koa, Boubinga, Ibiarra, Sapele, and Wenge. We have even dried some natural Manzanita branches!
